osama bin laden

was a badass. why? because he evaded american troops for ten years and made an entire look country look fucking stupid. we didn’t even know whether he was dead or alive for, like, five years.

i’m being a bit facetious. but seriously, his death has made us look even more stupid than we already did pursuing him. we parade his death around like it’s some victory, some fucking symbol of justice, just like we did the royal wedding as a symbol of hope. why are americans so preoccupied with symbolism?

symbols don’t get us anywhere. they don’t do shit. osama’s death won’t do shit. he’s been dead to us, more or less, for years now. when’s the last time you heard osama’s name in the news?

if you’re into conspiracy theories and think bin laden died in 2003 and we’ve been storing his body, waiting for the right moment to unveil this moment, then cool. but it doesn’t matter.

ON ANOTHER NOTE … it took us 10 years and over 8,000 american deaths (the total death toll for all parties involved is six digits) to find and kill the one man we’ve been looking for — one man who hasn’t terrorized us once during the ten years we’ve looked for him. we made one man worth hundreds of thousands.

if that’s not dumb, i’m not sure what is.
